The Power of Persuasion in Your Work and in Your Life

When you are at the office, you obviously have colleagues. Your colleagues are also eyeing for that managerial position. So how do you compete? You have to resort to subtle strategies to ensure you are being seen by the boss.

Some strategies that may help include:

1. When you are submitting a report or a brief to your boss, print an extra copy and CC it to his boss.
2. Always be the first to arrive at the office and the last to leave.
3. When it is time to clean up the office, be a volunteer and clean up not just your desk but  everybody's.
4. When one of your colleauges seek your opinion, give him your best advice. Don't hold anything back.

Outside the office, there are limitless opportunities for you to use persuasion to your advantage.

• In the Mall. Negotiate your way to the best bargain.
• At the Railway Station. Get new prospects for your business.
• At your child's school. Get to know other parents.
• At the movies. Get the best seats available.

Using the power of persuasion can eventually be second nature to you. Just remember not to abuse this Power.
